Raiders 17, Titans 10

Sept. 25, 2016
Nissan Stadium
Nashville, TN

STAR OF THE GAME
Oakland's maligned defense forces three turnovers, has a sack and prevents a game-tying touchdown in the final minute after Tennessee gets inside the Raiders' 15. Oakland (2-1) enters the game ranked last in yards allowed (517.5 per game) and passing yards allowed (404.0) and 31st in points allowed (69). The Titans (1-2) finish with 393 total yards but are an abysmal 2-of-12 on third down conversion. Reggie Nelson and Sean Smith contribute interceptions for Oakland and defensive tackle Denico Autry has a sack.

KEY STATS
The Titans (1-2) have a potential game-tying TD nullified when Tennessee receiver Andre Johnson is called for offensive pass interference on Oakland defensive back TJ Carrie after Johnson's 13-yard catch with 22 seconds remaining. Two plays later on fourth down, Carrie appears to grab Harry Douglas in the end zone but no flag is thrown as Marcus Mariota passes incomplete.
Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan is called for an unnecessary roughness penalty that backs up Tennessee from the Oakland 3 to the 18 after Tajae Sharpe has a 19-yard catch with 50 seconds left.
The Raiders' Derek Carr is 21 of 35 passing for 249 yards and a TD with an intercerption, his first of the season. Carr's 19-yard scoring pass to Seth Roberts with 33 seconds left in the first half gives Oakland a 17-3 advantage.
Oakland's Sebastian Janikowski becomes the NFL career leader in field goals of 50 yards or longer when he connects from 52 yards during the second quarter. Janikowski has 53 field goals of 50 or more yards during his 17 seasons with the Raiders. He previously shared the record with Jason Hanson, who had 52 field goals of 50 or more yards in 21 seasons.
The Titans' DeMarco Murray has 155 yards from scrimmage and a TD. He contributes 114 rushing yards on 16 carries and adds 41 receiving yards on five catches. Murray scores Tennessee's touchdown on a 5-yard run, narrowing Oakland's lead to 17-10 late in the third quarter.
