Texans 23, Raiders 14

FLASH RECAP:
Despite no pass completions in the second half and finishing with negative passing yards, Houston rallies to defeat self-destructing Oakland before an announced crowd of 46,276 fans at McAfee Coliseum on Dec. 3, 2006.

The Texans (4-8) become the first team in 25 years to win a game with negative passing yards. Quarterback David Carr is 7-of-14 passing for 32 yards in the first half and 0-for-3 passing in the second half. Carr is sacked five times for 37 yards, leaving the Texans with minus-5 yards in net passing.

Wali Lundy scores on a 3-yard run and Kris Brown kicks three field goals to help the Texans erase a 14-7 halftime deficit. Cornerback Demarcus Faggins returns RaShard Lee’s fumble 58 yards for Houston’s first touchdown.

The Raiders (2-10) self-destruct with three lost fumbles, two interceptions, seven penalties, three missed field goal attempts and breakdowns in punt and kick coverage teams.

Oakland surrenders two long returns that lead to 10 Houston points. Jerome Mathis returns the second-half kickoff 87 yards before Lundy scores from the 3. Dexter Wynn’s 58-yard punt return sets up Brown’s 42-yard field goal, snapping a 14-all tie early in the fourth quarter.

"When you have so many mistakes in a game like we had, you’re not going to win a Pop Warner game," running back Zack Crockett tells reporters after the Raiders’ fifth straight loss.

Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski misses three field goals, two of which strike off the left upright during the third quarter.

KEY STAT:
The Texans have minus-5 yards in net passing. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Houston is the first team since the Houston Oilers on Oct. 4, 1981 against Cincinnati to finish with negative passing yards and win. Those Oilers had minus-4 yards passing in a 17-10 vicyory over the Bengals.

THEY SAID IT:
"We got to find a way to get this thing turned around. I don’t know if we can get any lower than this."

Raiders RB Zack Crockett

"As I said to the team, this is probably as low as I’ve ever been all year long."

Raiders coach Art Shell

"It's the weirdest feeling I've ever had in a football game."

Texans QB David Carr
