FLASH RECAP:
Quarterback Bobby Hoying throws for two touchdowns and wide receiver Andre Rison makes his Raiders debut with two catches for 49 yards as Oakland defeats Seattle 20-0 at Network Associates Coliseum on Aug. 24. Sebastian Janikowski contributes field goals of 43 and 33 yards to help the Raiders beat the Seahawks before an announced crowd of 32,012.
PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:
Oakland
WR Andre Rison -- The former Kansas City Chief hears a rousing ovation when his name is announced during the pregame introductions. He's introduced along with the 11 Oakland offensive starters. Rison's 34-yard pass from quarterback Bobby Hoying helps set up Oakland's first touhdown.
QB Bobby Hoying -- Has touchdown passes of 10 yards and 2 yards to tight ends Jeremy Brigham and Mondriel Fulcher during the second quarter as the Raiders build a 17-0 lead. He hits 10 of 14 passes for 120 yards and he also runs for 25 yards during the first half.
TE Mondriel Fulcher -- Contributes three catches for 36 yards, including a 2-yard pass from Bobby Hoying for a touchdown with 1:04 left in the second quarter.
SS Marquez Pope -- Intercepts a Jon Kitna pass at the Oakland four with the Raiders leading 3-0 midway through the first quarter.
Seattle
QB Brock Huard -- Completes 16 of 26 passing attempts for 168 yards. He also rushes for a team-high 28 yards on three carries.
WR Darrell Jackson -- Contributes a game-high six catches for 60 yards.
CB Troy Saunders -- Stops an Oakland drive by intercepting a Bobby Hoying pass in the end zone with 38 seconds left in the third quarter.
TURNING POINT:
The Raiders score two touchdowns during the second quarter to to take a 17-0 advantage.
KEY DRIVE:
Oakland moves 80 yards in eight plays, culminated by Bobby Hoying's 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jeremy Brigham early in the second quarter for a 10-0 lead. During the drive, Hoying hits four straight passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.
BY THE NUMBERS:
2: Catches by new Oakland receiver Andre Rison.
3: Yards rushing by Seattle running back Ricky Watters.
7: Sacks by Oakland defense.
