FLASH RECAP:
The Raiders have only 226 total yards and surrender 34 unanswered points in Tom Cable's debut as head coach. Sebastian Janikowski's gives Oakland a 3-0 lead with a 24-yard field goal 5:16 into the first quarter. Leading 10-3, New Orleans pulls away in the third quarter when Brees throws touchdown passes to Aaron Stecker (for 8 yards) and Reggie Bush (15 yards). Bush also scores on a 3-yard run late in the first half. The Raiders' JaMarcus Russell is 13-of-35 passing for 159 yards with one interception. Three of Russell's incompletions are dropped by Saints defenders. Bush's 21-yard catch in the first quarter gives him 200 receptions through his first 34 NFL games, tying Bush with Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin as the quickest NFL players to reach 200 receptions.
PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:
RB Reggie Bush — Has two touchdowns (1 rush & 1 catch) and 67 combined yards. His 3-yard TD run with 3:45 left in the first half erases a 3-0 Raiders lead. DE Bobby McCray — Has two sacks on JaMarcus Russell and a forced fumble.
RB Justin Vargas — Contributes a team-high 35 rushing yards on 10 carries after missing the previous two games because of a groin injury. DT Tommy Kelly — Has Oakland's only sack on Drew Brees.
KEY STATS:
The Saints' Drew Brees completes his first 16 passes for 171 yards. Oakland has the ball for only 23:48 compared to 36:12 for New Orleans.
