FLASH RECAP:
New Orleans manhandles host Oakland as Drew Brees throws for two toucndowns and P.J. Hill rushes for two others in the Saints' victory over the Raiders at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum before a generous announced crowd of 32,685 on Aug. 29, 2009.

After Oakland absorbs its third-worst exhibition loss, quarterback JaMarcus Russell doesn't mince words to reporters: “Everything that could have possibly went wrong, went wrong today. It was very embarrassing today. It was disrespectful to our fans, ourselves and our family to go out and perform that way.”

Drew Brees throws for 179 yards and two touchdowns as the Saints build a 31-0 lead during the first half. The inept Raiders have only three first downs and 60 total yards during the first two quarters.

For the game, the Saints out-gain the Raiders a whopping 536 yards to 289.

Oakland avoids the shutout when Jeff Garcia throws a 43-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Holland with 6:06 remaining.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

New Orleans
QB Drew Brees — Hits his first eight passes and finishes 14-of-17 overall for 179 yards and two TDs.

Saints defense — In a dominanting first half, the Saints hold the Raiders to no points, 60 total yards (including a net 1 yard rushing) and three first downs.

RB P.J. Hill — The rookie from Wisconsin rushes for 82 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns.

Oakland
WR Jonathan Holland — Catches a 43-yard TD pass from Jeff Garcia.

QB Jeff Garcia — Is 9-of-15 passing for 111 yards and a TD for a 105.1 rating.

QB JaMarcus Russell — Not bad numbers (12-of-18 passing for 153 yards and no interceptions), but he doesn't generate any points in nine possessions and coughs up a fumble at the Saints' 33.

KEY STAT:
The Raiders surrender 232 yards rushing on 46 attempts (5.0 average).

DID YOU KNOW?:
The Saints hand the Raiders their third-worst exhibition loss. The franchise record for most lopsided loss is a 52-13 loss to host Dallas in 2003. No. 2 on the list is a 48-0 Oakland loss to Kansas City in 1967.
