Dolphins 34, Raiders 14

FLASH RECAP:
Oakland has a season-low 46 rushing yards and doesn't score until the fourth quarter en route to a lopsided loss to host Miami before an announced crowd of 57,225 at Sun Life Stadium on Dec. 4, 2011.

Leading 13-0, the Dolphins (4-8) blow open the game with 21 points during the third quarter, including two touchdowns in a 20-second span. Linebacker Kevin Burnett's 46-yard interception return with 4:41 left in the third quarter gives Miami a whopping 34-0 lead.

“We just got outplayed in every phase of the game,” quarterback Carson Palmer tells reporters after Miami snaps Oakland's three-game win streak. “We got physically beat. It’s very discouraging, very disappointing.”

Palmer throws fourth-quarter touchdown passes to T.J. Houshmandzadeh (40 yards) and Darrius Heyward-Bey (3 yards). Palmer finishes 21 of 40 for 273 yards and two touchdowns with an interception.

Oakland's Michael Bush has only 18 rushing yards on 10 carries. He averaged 108.5 rushing yards the previous four games.

A week after having only six penalties, the Raiders revert (7-5) to form with 10 penalties for 91 yards. Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour is ejected for throwing a punch during the third quarter.

The Raiders have the football for only 21:40 compared to 38:20 for the Dolphins. Oakland absorbs its worst loss since a 35-3 defeat at Pittsburgh on Nov. 21, 2010.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Miami
Dolphins defense — The unit surrenders only 46 rushing yards, doesn't allow any points until the the fourth quarter and returns an interception (by LB Kevin Burnett) 34 yards for a TD.

QB Matt Moore — Is 13 of 25 passing for 162 yards and a touchdown. He also has 22 rushing yards on five carries and a TD.

RB Reggie Bush — Has 100 rushing yards on 22 carries. Bush has 79 rushing yards on 10 carries in the first half as the Dolphins build a 13-0 lead at halftime.

Oakland
WR Chaz Schilens — Has a game-high six catches for 89 yards.

WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh — Hauls in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Carson Palmer midway through the fourth quarter.

DT Desmond Bryant — Has Oakland's only sack on Miami's Matt Moore.

KEY STATS:
Oakland has only 46 rushing yards on 14 carries. The Raiders enter the game averaging 149.2 rushing yards this season.


The Dolphins have 209 rushing yards on 44 carries. Oakland enters the game ranked 27th against the run, allowing 135.3 rushing yards per game.
The Dolphins have outscored the opposition, 154-39, in their past five games, four of which they won.

3: Interceptions returned for touchdowns against the Raiders this season. Linebacker Kevin Burnett's 34-yard interception return for a TD gives Miami a 34-0 lead late in the third quarter.
62: Raiders rushing yards against Miami during their past two games. Oakland had only 16 rushing yards on 12 carries against Miami in a 2010 game.
173: Combined rushing yards for Miami's Reggie Bush (100 yards on 22 carries) and Daniel Thomas (73 yards, 13 carries).
