Dolphins 33, Raiders 21

FLASH RECAP:
Oakland surrenders seven sacks, has three turnovers and 13 penalties and allows 33 points to a team that is shut out the previous game.

Now, there’s a blueprint for defeat.

Gus Frerotte throws for two TDs and Jason Taylor and Vonnie Holliday each have three sacks to lead Miami (4-7) to a victory over Oakland (4-7) before an announced crowd of 49,097 at McAfee Coliseum on Nov. 27, 2005.

The Dolphins have 394 total yards and average 6.0 yards on 66 plays a week after losing 22-0 to the Cleveland Browns. Miami ends a three-game losing streak and extends its regular-season win streak to six games over Oakland.

For the self-destructing Raiders, LaMont Jordan rushes for 97 yards and two TDs and Derrick Burgess has two sacks.

Oakland commits 13 penalties for 90 yards. The Raiders reach double figures in penalties for the fifth time in 11 games this season.

DE Derrick Burgess — Has two sacks, giving him 11 for the season.
FS Stuart Schweigert — His second-quarter interception is only the third interception by the Raiders this season. Schweigert also forces a fumble and recovers it.

GOAT (S):
Oakland defense. The Raiders surrender 33 points and 394 total yards to a Dolphins offense that has no points and only 55 passing yards against Cleveland the previous game.

Despite a career-high 18-yard TD run, Raiders QB Kerry Collins has two interceptions, two fumbles (one lost) and overthrows a wide-open Jerry Porter on a critical third-and-1 in the fourth quarter.

KEY STAT:
The Raiders allow seven sacks. They surrendered only 22 sacks in the first 10 games of the season.

TURNING POINT:
Trailing 23-21 with 6:30 left, the Raiders punt on fourth-and-1 from their 44. The Dolphins then drive 80 yards — 56 rushing by Ricky Williams — for a victory-clinching touchdown with 3:50 left.

BY THE NUMBERS:
6: Consecutive Miami regular-season wins over Oakland, dating back to 1997.
29.8: Average yards on five first-half punts by Oakland’s Shane Lechler. He entered the game averaging 46.1 yards.
52.3: Kerry Collins’ quarterback rating on 21-of-37 passing for 226 yards, two interceptions and no TDs.

THEY SAID IT:
"I’m very disappointed with (a) the way we played today, (b) the way we’ve played all season long."

Raiders RB LaMont Jordan

"In the first half, offensively . . . oh, the whole game . . . we didn’t play football."

The Raiders' Jordan

"The Raiders were trying to get the ball downfield, and it allowed us time to get to Kerry Collins. We hit him early and we hit him often. That was the key."

Dolphins DE Vonnie Holliday

DID YOU KNOW?:
Dolphins DE Jason Taylor has six sacks the past two games against Oakland. He also had three sacks in Miami’s 23-17 win over visiting Oakland in 2002.
