Chiefs 34, Raiders 27

FLASH RECAP:
Trent Green throws for 340 yards and three touchdowns to rally visiting Kansas City (4-8) to a victory over Oakland (4-8) before an announced crowd of 51,292 at Network Associates Coliseum on Dec. 5, 2004.

Green's 70-yard scoring pass to wide receiver Eddie Kennison snaps a 27-all deadlock with 2 minutes, 4 seconds remaining. Kennison has a clear path to the end zone after breaking a tackle by Raiders safety Stuart Schweigert at the Oakland 30-yard line.

The Chiefs drive 88 yards in five plays for the winning score after Raiders coach Norv Turner decides to punt on fourth-and-4 from the Chiefs' 36-yard line with 4:08 left.

Despite playing with sore ribs, Green is 14-of-15 passing for 229 yards and two TDs in the second half as Kansas City ends a four-game losing streak. Kennison finishes with 8 catches for 149 yards, and third-string running back Larry Johnson has 118 rushing yards and scores twice (5-yard run and 10-yard catch).

The Raiders build a 20-7 lead in the second quarter on Kerry Collins touchdown passes to Ronald Curry (34 yards) and Jerry Porter (51 yards). Collins finishes with 343 passing yards and three TDs. Sebastien Janikowski kicks field goals of 27 and 36 yards for Oakland in the first quarter.

Curry, who finishes with 9 catches for a career-high 141 yards and two TDs, sustains a torn left Achilles tendon after a 22-yard catch midway through the fourth quarter.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Kansas City
QB Trent Green -- Completes 14 of 15 passes for 229 yards and two TDs in the second half as the Chiefs erase a 20-10 halftime deficit.
WR Eddie Kennison -- Catches 8 passes for 149 yards and a TD. The nine-year veteran scores the game-winning TD on a 70-yard reception with 2:04 remaining. Kennison has 6 catches for 135 yards in the second half.
RB Larry Johnson -- Rushes for 118 yards on 20 carries, catches 3 passes for 56 yards and scores on a 5-yard run and a 10-yard catch, both in the third quarter. The former Penn State star has 104 rushing yards on 15 carries in the second half.
Chiefs O-line -- Kansas City has 500 total yards (160 rushing, 340 passing), controls the football for 36:35 and doesn't allow a sack in 35 passing attempts. Trent Green, Eddie Kennison and Larry Johnson don't have sizzling second-half performances without superior blocking. DE Greg Stills -- His 9-yard sack on Kerry Collins on Oakland's final possession at the Raiders' 45 seals the Chiefs victory.

Oakland
QB Kerry Collins -- Completes 27 of 41 passes for 343 yards and 3 TDs with no interceptions for a passer rating of 116.2.
WR Ronald Curry -- Catches 9 passes for a career-high 141 yards and two TDs before sustaining a torn left Achilles tendon with 5:36 remaining.
WR Jerry Porter -- His 51-yard TD reception gives Oakland a 20-7 lead with 5:58 left in the first half. Porter finishes with 3 catches for 67 yards.
CB Charles Woodson -- Sets up Oakland's first TD with a second-quarter interception, his first of the season. Woodson spends the early part of the game shadowing Cheifs TE Tony Gonzalez, who is a non-factor with 3 catches for 32 yards.
DB Nnamdi Asomugha -- His highlight-film hit on Derrick Blaylock sends the Chiefs RB to the sideline with a neck strain.

"We didn't put that nail in the coffin. We let them get up, and they built more confidence in the second half. We didn't quite regain ours."

Raiders LB Danny Clark

"It's about time we closed a game out in the fourth quarter. Man, it felt good to put this one away."

Chiefs DE Jared Allen
