Chiefs 12, Raiders 10

FLASH RECAP:
Safety Jarrad Page’s interception with 34 seconds remaining seals victory as Kansas City (4-3) holds off Oakland (2-4) before an announced crowd of 62,240 at McAfee Coliseum on Oct. 21, 2007.

Kansas City beats Oakland for the ninth straight time, the longest winning streak against the Raiders in their franchise history. The Raiders drop their 17 straight game against AFC West opposition.

Page’s interception at the Kansas City 48 prevents the Raiders from moving into position for a potential game-winning field goal. Page also is credited with stopping LaMont Jordan for no gain on a fourth-and-one at the Kansas City 17-yard line in the second quarter.

Larry Johnson has 112 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Chiefs. Johnson’s 1-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter erases a 7-6 Raiders lead.

Ronald Curry’s 21-yard touchdown catch and Sebastian Janikowski’s 37-yard field goal account for Oakland’s scoring.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Kansas City
Chiefs defense — The unit allows only 55 rushing yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs stop LaMont Jordan for no gain on fourth-and-one from the Kansas City 17-yard line and Oakland trailing 6-0 with 5:55 left in the first half.
DE Jared Allen — Has two sacks and eight solo tackles (nine total).
RB Larry Johnson — Has 112 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Over half of Johnson’s rushing output comes on a 54-yard run during the third quarter.
FS Jarrad Page — His interception of a Daunte Culpepper pass at the Kansas City 48 and 37-yard return with 34 seconds left seals victory. Page also tackles LaMont Jordan for no gain on fourth-and-one from the Kansas City 17-yard line during the first half.
Oakland
WR Ronald Curry — Has a 21-yard touchdown catch late in the third period. Curry finishes with four catches for 45 yards, but he also drops three passes.
DT Warren Sapp — His 9-yard sack of Kansas City’s Damon Huard is Sapp’s first sack of the season.
K Sebastian Janikowski — His 37-yard field goal during the fourth quarter ties Chris Bahr’s franchise record of 162 field goals.
P Shane Lechler — Has nine punts for a career high 461 yards.

GOAT:
For the second straight game, the dubious honor goes to Raiders offensive line. Oakland averages a pitiful 2.3 yards per rush on 24 running plays. Daunte Culpepper is sacked twice and LaMont Jordan is stopped for no gain on fourth-and-one from the Chiefs’ 17 during the second quarter.

KEY STATS:
The Raiders rush for only 55 yards on 24 carries. Oakland enters the game ranked third in the league in rushing (166.0 yards per game).

The Raiders surrender a fourth-quarter lead for the fifth time in six games this season.

TURNING POINT:
With Oakland leading 7-6 early in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs’ Damon Huard completes 58-yard pass to Dwayne Bowe to the Raiders’ 16 on third-and-10. Six plays later, Larry Johnson caps a 9-play, 74-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

THEY SAID IT:
"You just hope that one of these times it’s going to go our way. It seems like (weird things) happen against Kansas City."

Raiders FS Stuart Schweigert

"It definitely feels good to make the play. I just happened to be the one who got the opportunity."

Chiefs FS Jarrad Page

"It’s one of those things where, if you don’t get the first down, you don’t get points out of the drive, then ‘Kiff’ (Lane Kiffin) looks like a bad coach. If you get points, you get the first down and you go and score a touchdown, then it’s one of those things where he looks like a hero."

Raiders RB LaMont Jordan

BY THE NUMBERS:
2.3: Raiders yards per rush on 24 running plays.
3: Dropped passes by Raiders receiver Ronald Curry.
4: Career interceptions by Chiefs FS Jarrad Page in three career games against the Raiders.
9: Consecutive Chiefs wins over the Raiders, including five in Oakland.

DID YOU KNOW?:
Chiefs running back Priest Holmes plays in a game for the first time since sustaining a serious neck injury Oct. 30, 2005 against the San Diego Chargers. Holmes rushes for 9 yards on four carries against Oakland.

Sebastian Janikowski’s 37-yard field goal during the fourth quarter ties Chris Bahr's franchise record of 162 field goals. Bahr played for the Raiders from 1980 to 1988. Janikowski is in his eighth season with Oakland.
The Raiders’ Thomas Howard’s streak of intercepting a pass ends at four games, tied for the NFL record for a linebacker.
