FLASH RECAP:
A 39-yard pass interference penalty on Arizona's Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie gives Oakland a final chance at victory at the Cardinals' 13-yard line before Janikowski misses his third field goal attempt of the game. Janikowski makes kicks of 22, 54 and 23 yards, but he misses from 41, 58 and 32 yards. Ouch! "As I told the team, I don't feel like the game was won or lost on the last play," Raiders coach Tom Cable tells reporters after the game. "It certainly could have been won, but we had a lot of opportunities in the second half to put some exclamation points out there and we couldn't do it." The Cardinals (2-1) erase a 20-17 Raiders advantage on Derek Anderson's 8-yard touchdown pass to Larry Fitzgerald with 1:01 left in the third period. Arizona's LaRod-Stephens Howling returns Janikowski's opening kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown. Making his first start of the season, the Raiders' Bruce Gradkowski is 17-of-34 passing for 255 yards and a touchdown and interception. Oakland (1-2) commits a whopping 11 penalties for 123 yards compared to 104 penalty yards on seven infractions for the Cardinals. THEY SAID IT:
Raiders RB Darren McFadden
"I don’t think this (win) was unexpected. I think we outplayed them. He missed the kick, and that’s part of the game. It’s not guaranteed he’s going to make the kick just because it’s close like that.”
Cardinals LB Joey Porter
