Browns 23, Raiders 9

FLASH RECAP:
Jerome Harrison rushes for 148 yards and Cleveland's defense doesn't allow a touchdown to lead the resurgent Browns (4-11) to a victory over Oakland (5-10) before an announced crowd of 67,964 at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Dec. 27, 2009.

The error-prone Raiders make it easy on the Browns with a season-high 126 penalty yards on 13 infractions and two player ejections (cornerback Stanford Routt & tight end Tony Stewart). In a pathetic sequence, Oakland has 30 yards in penalties on a 93-yard Browns touchdown drive late in the first half that puts Cleveland ahead 17-6.

Despite allowing 389 yards, Cleveland forces three interceptions and sacks ex-Brown Charlie Frye three times.

Oakland is only 3-of-13 on third-down plays as the Browns win their third straight game for the first time since 2007 and third time since 1999.

The Raiders' Sebastian Janikowski kicks a 61-yard field goal on the final play of the first half, the fourth-longest kick in NFL history. The Saints' Tom Dempsey and Broncos' Jason Elam share the league record of 63 yards.

"That's one of the best kicks I've ever had," Janikowski tells reporters after Oakland completes its 2009 road schedule with a 3-5 record. "In these conditions with the snow and wind, I'm proud of it. In warmups, we kicked it 60 yards going in that direction. I hit it hard. I thought it was short at first and it barely got in there."

Janikowski also makes kicks of 44 and 34 yards. The Browns' Phil Dawson kicks field goals of 42, 33 and 34 yards.

The Raiders reach 10 or more losses for the seventh straight season, the second longest streak in NFL history.

THEY SAID IT:
"The refs werent doing their job out there. I mean, theyre trying to call a game, but our guys dont feel like its necessarily fair, so, of course, people are going to get mad."

Raiders WR Chaz Schilens

"The intensity was all directed toward us. Maybe (its) the Raider mystique. They were all directed toward us. You never want to go into the game prejudged what youre going to do, and we felt that is the way the game happened."

Raiders DL Richard Seymour

"Those (Raiders) penalties actually sparked us. If those guys want to get ejected and have dumb penalties, so be it. It can only help us out."

Browns G Eric Steinbach

"I didn't give our team a very good chance to win. Turnovers trump everything.

Raiders QB Charlie Frye

BY THE NUMBERS:
0: Raiders touchdowns on 16 snaps from the Browns 30-yard-line or closer.
