Unofficial listing of injuries to key Raiders players during the 2012 season:

  Quarterback Carson Palmer — Is recovering from cracked ribs and a bruised lung that sidelined him for the season finale, general manager Reggie McKenzie told reporters Jan. 17. Palmer, who threw for 4,018 yards and 22 touchdowns with 14 interceptions during the 2012 season, reportedly is expected to be ready for Organized Team Activity (OTAs) in May.

Guard Mike Brisiel — - Underwent "major surgery" on an ankle injury that hampered him all season,  general manager Reggie McKenzie told reporters Jan. 17.

Right tackle Khalif Barnes — Underwent surgery on a triceps injury, general manager Reggie McKenzie told reporters Jan. 17.

Linebacker Miles Burris — Underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, general manager Reggie McKenzie told reporters Jan. 17.

Cornerback Phillip Adams — Placed on injured reserve because of a groin injury, the Raiders announced Dec. 28, 2012.

Right guard Mike Brisiel — Did not play in the Raiders at San Diego game Dec. 30 because of an ankle injury and concussion.

Quarterback Carson Palmer — Reportedly suffered cracked ribs and a bruised lung after a hit by Carolina defensive end Greg Hardy on Dec. 23 and will not play in Oakland's season finale against San Diego on Dec. 30.

Palmer was hit in the back by Hardy late during the first quarter while rolling out to throw. Hardy reportedly appeared to lead with his helmet and drew an unnecessary roughness penalty on the play.

Palmer reportedly was later taken to a hospital in Carolina and underwent a CT scan which revealed the cracked ribs and bruised lung. Palmer was able to rejoin his teammates for the flight home, but upon arrival in Oakland he was transported from the plane to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and kept overnight. Palmer reportedly was released from the hospital the afternoon of Dec. 24.

Right guard Mike Brisiel — Reportedly suffered a concussion against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 23.

Strong safety Tyvon Branch — Reportedly suffered an ankle injury against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 23.

Linebacker Philip Wheeler — Reportedly suffered a groin injury against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 23.

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour — Did not play in the Raiders at Carolina game Dec. 23 because of a hamstring injury. Seymour has not played since Nov. 4 against Tampa Bay, missing seven straight games. The 12-year veteran was placed on season-ending injured reserve Dec. 27.

Cornerback Phillip Adams — Reportedly returned to practice Dec. 19 after sustaining a concussion during the Raiders-Kansas City game Dec. 16.

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour — Did not play in the Raiders-Kansas City game Dec. 16, missing his sixth straight contest because of a hamstring injury.

Cornerback Phillip Adams — Reportedly sustained a concussion during the Raiders-Kansas City game Dec. 16, his second concussion the past three games.

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour — Is listed as questionable for the Kansas City at Oakland game Dec. 16 because of a hamstring injury. He reportedly aggravated the injury during practice Dec. 13. Seymour has missed the past five game since suffering the injury Nov. 4.

Running back Darren McFadden — Reportedly took part in practice Dec. 10 after re-injuring his high right ankle sprain during Oakland's 26-13 loss to Denver on Dec. 6.

Running back Darren McFadden — Reportedly re-injured his high right ankle sprain during Oakland's 26-13 loss to Denver on Dec. 6. Coach Dennis Allen told reporters on Dec. 7 that he does not believe the re-injury to McFadden's ankle appears serious.

Cornerback/safety Michael Huff — Reportedly suffered a wrist injury against Denver on Dec. 6. Coach Dennis Allen told reporters on Dec. 7 that X-rays were negative on Huff, who reportedly also will have an MRI on the wrist.

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour — Is listed as out because of a hamstring injury for the Denver at Oakland game Dec. 6, missing his fifth straight game.

Running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson — They are listed as probable for the Denver at Oakland game Dec. 6. McFadden and Goodson have missed four games since sustaining high ankle sprains against Tampa Bay on Nov. 4.

Free safety Matt Giordano — Reportedly sustained a concussion against the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 2. He returned to practice Dec. 4 after passing the NFL protocol for concussions.

Quarterback Carson Palmer — Reportedly limited in practice Nov. 29 because of a sprained right thumb. Oakland offensive coordinator Greg Knapp told reporters that Palmer hit his thumb on a helmet during Oakland's 34-10 loss at Cincinnati on Nov. 25. Matt Leinart, Palmer's backup, reportedly took all the snaps with the first-team offense in practice Nov. 29.

Running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson — Both returned to practice on Nov. 28 on a limited basis for the first time since suffering high right ankle sprains Nov. 4. against Tampa Bay.

Right tackle Khalif Barnes — Returned to the starting lineup against New Orleans on Nov. 18, his first action since undergoing groin surgery after Week 2.

Running back Darren McFadden — Has been ruled out of the Oakland-New Orleans game Nov. 18 because of a high right ankle sprain he suffered against Tampa Bay in Week 9. McFadden, the fourth overall pick in 2008 draft, has yet to play a full 16-game schedule since entering the NFL.

He reportedly injured the ankle on Oakland's first offensive play during a 42-32 loss to Tampa Bay on Nov. 4. McFadden underwent X-rays and an MRI that was negative, Raiders coach Dennis Allen told reporters Nov. 5.

McFadden, right, leads the Raiders with 455 rushing yards on 139 carries this season. His 3.3 yards per carry average this season is the lowest for a Raiders player since Pete Banaszak’s 3.2 average in 1976.

In the 2011 season, McFadden had 614 rushing yards on 113 attempts in seven games before a Lisfranc foot sprain ended his season. He reportedly missed 19 games in his first four seasons with foot, toe, shoulder, knee and hamstring injuries.

Running back Mike Goodson — Has been ruled out of the Oakland-New Orleans game Nov. 18 because of a high right ankle sprain he suffered against Tampa Bay in Week 9.

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour — Has been ruled out of the Oakland-New Orleans game Nov. 18 because of a hamstring injury. He has not played since Oakland's 42-32 loss to Tampa Bay on Nov. 4.

Right tackle Khalif Barnes — Is scheduled to return to the starting lineup against New Orleans in Week 11, coach Dennis Allen told reporters Nov. 12. Barnes has been sidelined since undergoing groin surgery after Week 2.

Tight end Brandon Myers — Reportedly sustained a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 11, Myers' second concussion of the season. On Nov. 14, Raiders coach Dennis Allen told reporters that Myers had been cleared to return to practice.

Free safety Matt Giordano — Reportedly sustained a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 11. He returned to practice Nov. 15, according to published reports.

Backup linebacker and long snapper Travis Goethel — Reportedly suffered a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament in his left knee against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 11 and will be sidelined the rest of the season. He was placed on season-ending injured reserve Nov. 14.

Cornerback Ron Bartell — Started against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 11 after suffering a broken shoulder blade during Oakland's season opener Sept. 10. He returned to practice Oct. 31.

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour — Did not play against Baltimore on Nov. 11 because of a hamstring injury. Seymour has missed three previous games since joining the Raiders in 2009, all in the 2010 season.

When asked by reporters Nov. 8 if he would be ready to play against the Ravens, Seymour said: "I don’t know, I’m not sure. Hammies are tough. I’ve had them throughout my career. The only thing you can do is work hard. When it’s ready I’ll be back."

Right tackle Khalif Barnes — Returned to practice Nov. 7 for the first time since undergoing groin surgery after Week 2.

Defensive end Desmond Bryant — Returned to practice Nov. 7 after reportedly leaving the Tampa Bay game Nov. 4 early in the second half because of an accelerated heartbeat.

Cornerback Ron Bartell — Returned to practice Oct. 31 after suffering a broken shoulder blade during Oakland's season opener against San Diego on Sept. 10. He had been on Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return since Sept. 15. The Raiders reportedly have 21 days to activate Bartell, put him on injured reserve for the remainder of the season or release him. The eight-year veteran is eligible to resume playing Nov. 11 when Oakland plays at Baltimore.

Running back Mike Goodson — Reportedly suffered a turf toe injury during Oakland's 26-16 victory over Kansas City on Oct. 28.

Right guard Mike Brisiel — Returned to practice Oct. 17 after suffering a concussion during the first half against the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 14.

Linebacker Aaron Curry — Returned to practice Oct. 17 for the first time since he was placed on the physically unable to perform list at the start of training camp because of sore knees. Curry reportedly had not practiced since an organized team activity May 15. The Raiders have 21 days before having to decide whether to put him on the 53-man roster, put him on injured reserve or release him. Curry, 26, played in the final 11 games (with nine starts) of Oakland's 2011 season, contributing 32 solo tackles, two fumble recoveries and a TD.

Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bay — Returned to action against the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 14, three weeks after sustaining a concussion against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Against the Falcons, he had no receptions but contributed a 20-yard rush on a reverse.

Heyward-Bey reportedly was knocked unconscious by a helmet-to-helmet hit from Pittsburgh safety Ryan Mundy during Oakland's 34-31 win Sept. 23. Heyward-Bey appeared to be knocked out by the hit. He then crashed to the turf headfirst and his neck twisted awkwardly. He was taken to the hospital for a concussion and sprained neck.

Heyward-Bey told reporters Sept. 28 that he has no memory of Mundy's vicious hit. “I don’t remember any of it,” he said.

Mundy was fined $21,000 by the NFL for his hit on Heyward-Bey, the NFL announced Sept. 28.

Tight end Brandon Myers — Sustained a concussion from a helmet-to-helmet hit by Pittsburgh safety Ryan Munday on Sept. 23. Myers' concussion came on a 25-yard reception on the Raiders' game-winning drive against the Steelers. He returned to the lineup the following week against the Denver Broncos and contributed one catch for 22 yards.

Linebacker Rolando McClain — Sustained a concussion against Miami on Sept. 16. McClain contributed nine total tackles (six solo) in Oakland's 34-31 win over Pittsburgh on Sept. 23.

Cornerback Shawntae Spencer — Suffered a right foot sprain during the fourth quarter against Miami on Sept. 16. Spencer was replaced by Joselio Hanson at right cornerback. Spencer is out indefinitely. Spencer was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve on Nov. 10.

Offensive tackle Khalif Barnes — Suffered a groin injury during the second quarter against Miami on Sept. 16. Barnes reportedly had a “procedure” on his injured groin Sept. 21, Raiders coach Dennis Allen told reporters Oct. 1.

Wide receiver Jacoby Ford — Placed on season-ending injured reserve Sept. 15, 2012. He reportedly underwent successful surgery to repair damage from a ``Lisfranc’’ condition in his left foot on Sept. 12.

Cornerback Ron Bartell — Placed on Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return, the Raiders announced Sept. 15. He reportedly suffered a broken shoulder blade during Oakland's season opener against San Diego on Sept. 10. Under a new NFL rule this season, Bartell is allowed to return to practice Oct. 27 and could play as early as Nov. 11 at Baltimore, according to the Raiders.

According to the Raiders website, raiders.com, each NFL team is allowed to designate one player with a major injury, defined as a setback that keeps the player from practicing or playing for at least six weeks from the date the injury occurred, as eligible for reactivation later in the same season.

Center Stefen Wisniewski — Is expected to start against Miami on Sept. 16. Wisniewski was in uniform but did not play in Oakland's season opener Sept. 10. He was sidelined three weeks after suffering a calf strain against Dallas on Aug. 13. Wisniewski started at center against Miami on Sept. 16.

Wide receiver Denarius Moore — Contributed three catches for 67 yards in Oakland's 35-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 16. Moore was inactive for Oakland's season opener against San Diego Sept. 10 after recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered during a June minicamp.

Wide receiver Jacoby Ford — Reportedly underwent successful surgery to repair damage from a ``Lisfranc’’ condition in his left foot on Sept. 12. The following day, Raiders coach Dennis Allen told reporters that Ford is likely finished for the season. "We haven't done anything yet but there's probably a strong possibility that he'll go to (injured reserve)," Allen said.

Linebacker Aaron Curry — Placed on the Physically Unable To Perform list, the Raiders announced Aug. 31, 2012. Curry, who started 11 games for Oakland in the 2011 season, has been sidelined since the start of training camp reportedly because of soreness in his knees. By going on the PUP list, he reportedly gets another six weeks (five games) to prove he can rehabilitate his sore knees.

WR Jacoby Ford  — Has not practiced since suffering an injury to his left foot against the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 17.

QB Matt Leinart - Reportedly received stitches in his right index finger on his non-throwing hand after being knocked out by an illegal hit by Arizona’s Ricky Lumpkin during their preseason game Aug. 17. Leinart played in Oakland's preseason finale, a 21-3 loss to Seattle on Aug. 30.

RB Mike Goodson — Returned to practice Aug. 15 after sustaining a neck injury when he collided with linebacker Philip Wheeler during a drill Aug. 7. Goodson reportedly spent over four hours at a local hospital but was released when results of a CT scan and MRI test were negative. Goodson played in the team's final three exhibition games.

C/G Stefen Wisniewski  — Sustained a calf strain in the exhibition opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 13. He missed all of offseason workouts after undergoing shoulder surgery.
