Raiders 24, Browns 17

FLASH RECAP:
Jacoby Ford returns a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown and Kevin Boss scores on a fake field goal to spark Oakland to a victory over Cleveland before an announced crowd of 57,300 at O.co Coliseum on Oct. 16, 2011.

Leading 17-7 late in the third quarter, the Raiders (4-2) line up for a 53-yard field goal attempt. After taking a snap from center, holder Shane Lechler rolls right before throwing a short pass to a wide-open Boss who rambles into the end zone on a 35-yard TD reception.

Darren McFadden opens the scoring on a 4-yard run and Sebastian Janikowski has a 48-yard field goal for Oakland.

Colt McCoy throws for two touchdowns for the Browns.

Before and during the game, there are video tributes to longtime Raiders owner Al Davis, who died Oct. 8 of an undisclosed illness at age 82.

The most moving moment comes during a halftime ceremony with many former players standing in a circle around the Raiders emblem at midfield. Former coach John Madden then lites a caldron on the plaza level in the southeast corner of the stadium with the public address announcer saying the fire will “burn forever” for fans to remember Davis.

"A lot of people knew him as an antagonist. But if you were a Raider, you were a Raider for life," former Raiders quarterback Jim Plunkett told reporters. "Al was unquestionably loyal."

The victory is costly for the Raiders as starting quarterback Jason Campbell suffers a broken right clavicle on a scramble late in the second quarter.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Oakland
WR/KR Jacoby Ford — His 101-yard kickoff return for a TD early in the second quarter gives the Raiders a 14-7 lead. He also has a 27-yard reception to set up a Sebastian Janikowski 48-yard field goal.

WR Darrius Heyward-Bey — Has six catches for 82 yards.

DE Lamarr Houston — Has a sack and a tackle for loss.

Cleveland
QB Colt McCoy — Throws for 215 yards and two TDs despite completing only 46.7 percent of his passes (21 of 45).

WR Mohamed Massaquoi — His 12-yard TD catch with 1:06 remaining reduces the Browns’ deficit to 24-17.

DT Phil Taylor — Contributes a sack and two tackles for loss.

KEY STATS:
The Raiders surrender 65 rushing yards on 21 attempts (3.1 yards per rush). Oakland enters the game ranked 29th against the run (136.0 yards per game).

Oakland’s Darrius Heyward-Bey has 82 receiving yards, giving him 296 receiving yards the past three games.

THEY SAID IT:
“It’s a pretty simple pass and a pretty simple catch. I think all the credit goes to (special teams) Coach (John) Fassel for being able to recognize it’s something we should take advantage of. And to (head) Coach (Hue) Jackson for having the guts to call the play.”

Raiders TE Kevin Boss

“I hate that it happened to (Jason Campbell), because that was our guy. It’s just part of the game, something you have to adjust to. Kyle (Boller) stepped up and made some great plays today. Now we know that Kyle’s our quarterback and we have to step up for him.”

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford

BY THE NUMBERS:
4: Kickoffs returned for touchdowns in 20 career games by Oakland’s Jacoby Ford.
5: Raiders penalties for 35 yards, both season lows.
91: Rushing yards for Darren McFadden, who had a 24-yard run on Oakland’s first offensive play.

DID YOU KNOW?:
The Raiders' Jacoby Ford joins the late Travis Williams of the Green Bay Packers as the only players in NFL history to have four kickoff returns for touchdowns in their first 20 games.

The Raiders win back-to-back games for the first time since Weeks 7 through 9 of the 2010 season.
The Raiders are two games over. 500 for the first time since the 2002 season.
